Abduction is a French Black/Death Metal band created in 2006 by Guillaume Fleury and Jean Jacques Herrera who quickly left the band and was replaced by Guillaume Roquette (Hilde, Crystal Wall).
Joined in 2008 by Mathieu Taverne and Morgan Velly, they released their first EP/Demo, Heights' Shivers, in 2010.
In September 2011, Guillaume Roquette left the band due to a lack of motivation and was replaced by François Blanc as singer. The band is currently recording his first album and hope it would be able to be released in the middle of year 2016.
Abduction plays Black/Death Metal music with complex and varied songs. Atmosphere and varied ambiences, principally influenced by bands like Dissection, Opeth or Primordial.
Abduction’s music gives an important part to melodies and clean breaks and tries to approach feelings like mystery, fear, melancholia, doubt, rage and all the emotions a human could seek during his existence in order to escape the vacuity of his own existence. The band’s inspiration principally comes from French History, french landscapes and varied atmospheres this country could provide.
The cover of the first EP is a vision of the epic piece Heights'Shivers through music and lyrics. As for the overall visual record, the visual world in which we inscribe namely a very thin atmosphere of the XIXth century (the song Modern Times, which finds its logic in there also with piano melodies typed romantic era, it is an improvisation without editing to preserve the spontaneity).
Finally the visual l is a triptych that sticks in one actually, the cover with the tree, while the man is still close to nature, then inside the booklet the industrial city that begins to grow, and finally the back shows the invention of the railroad launching a new era of urbanisation.
