"What do you have to say to those who feel that Pentagram is just too darn derivative of Black Sabbath?
BOBBY LIEBLING: I want to ask them if they've really listened. If you talk to someone once, do you really know them? No, you need to go out a few times, have a couple of drinks and talk to each other. One needs to also do this with music. The songs that I wrote in the '70s were hard rock songs. I was able to bring darkness into my music without stealing from Sabbath. Victor and Joe were the big Sabbath fans. I wrote 98% of my songs in the '70s and my influences were more along the lines of Sir Lord Baltimore, Frost, Dust, Stooges, MC5, The New York Dolls, Free, Savoy Brown, Ten Years After and on and on. I was more into the blues sound, the same place that Sabbath were from. Maybe that is why we sound alike. Pre-Sabbath band Earth was a blues band after all. I tried to make the blues black. "
